Ausbildung als Dekorateurin 1959-1964. Fotografenlehre bei Roland Schneider in Solothurn 1965-1968. Pressefotografin bei Keystone Press Zürich 1969. Übersiedelung in die USA. Ausbildung zur Studiofotografin 1970, Assistentin der Modefotografin Gosta Peterson in New York. Ab 1971 freischaffend. Schreibt und illustriert amerikanische Jugendbücher. Fotopreis der Famous Photographers' School 1968; Eidgenössische Stipendien 1969, 1970; Award of Distinction llford Photo Competition USA 1981; The Jane Adams Children‘s Book Award USA 1999.
